We’d like to introduce Jonny Hobbs - old friend of Nonsense, and one of the finest Media Studies teachers in the East Midlands.

Jonny couldn’t give a monkey’s about what we should do for our website, but he does know an opportunity to avoid writing a proper lesson plan when he sees one.

So, here is Jonny “teaching” a group of year 10 BTEC students at Haywood School in Nottingham, using hightimewehadawebsite!

At the end of the class they held a vote and, interestingly, the results were the exact opposite to the the voice of Ad Land.

“Pinboard” was the runaway winner with 15 votes, “Mixed Media” second with 5, and “Grannies” came in last with just one vote.

(You might have a future Creative Director there Jonny…)

Right - 5 minutes ago we found out that “The Rocking Chair Test” (AKA “Grannies”) has won the High Time We Had A Website vote.

This might not come as a surprise to a lot of you, because so many of the blog comments predicted that the Grannies would triumph. Some of us were starting to think it was a foregone conclusion.

That’s why, when the final count was tallied up, we could honestly not believe how close things were. A difference of just 0.3% separated Grannies from its nearest rival “Media: Mixed”. And only 4.4% splits all three ideas.

So what swung it? Like a lazy policeman, we went straight for the usual suspects; a quick look at the analytics showed that 0.7% of all votes came from… Florida! Typical.

Anyway, we’d better get on and start developing the creative, running it past focus groups and double-checking that there aren’t tonnes of duplicate votes originating from the Orlando branch of the Women’s Institute.

As usual, your comments are more than welcome. We’re planning on having a bit of fun with how we develop this, so feel free to muck in. If you want to stay involved, you might want to subscribe to our feed.

See you later.

To be honest, we’re collectively a bit out of practice when it comes to writing thank yous (not because we haven’t had lots of favours and gifts and stuff, but because we no longer live with our Mums).

Anyway, we’ll try to keep this one from sounding forced, formulaic and false. We just want to say a big “Thank You” to everyone out there who linked to HTWHAW, and wrote about it.

There’s a full list of links somewhere on the right to return the favour.

Some highlights:

- Love Creative obviously take their name rather literally (and managed to resist the temptation to say the same about us).

- makethelogobigger made us ’sick as a parrot’ by comparing the voice-over to accents found in Guy Ritchie films.

- But then AdRants made up for it.

- And, a site called Capital in Bulgaria either said it was good, or bad, or indifferent. If anyone can translate, please could you shed some light on this? You’ll need to follow the link and scan the copy for the word Nonsense (along with “Innocent”, it’s the only one in roman script!).

Hello and welcome to the High Time We Had A Website blog. We’ve tagged this on to the main site so that we can document how Nonsense is going about making its agency website.

If you’ve voted, you’ll know the start of the story; we’ve had a few ideas, made some little videos of them, and right now we’re asking you to vote for the one you like best. At the end of the month, the idea with the most votes will get made into our agency website. Simple.

This blog will become like a development log, telling the inside story of the creative and technical processes that’ll kick in as we set about making the winning idea into a website. A bit like we do for our clients when we do digital stuff for them (and hopefully just as collaborative). If you want in on that, then subscribe to our feed now.

In the meantime, we’ll post any little stories that might crop up during voting.

Make sense? Hope so. Bye for now.
